The short version
The short version
This year we plan to raise $80,550 and put $96,728 into our school. Yes, that second number is bigger - on purpose. We ended last year with $43,901 in the bank, well above the $25,000 floor the board keeps as a safety cushion. Rather than sit on that surplus, this budget puts it to work in classrooms now, and still projects $27,723 in reserve at year end.

Two events carry most of this - the fall fundraiser (aka Fun Run, Trek for Tech) and spring fundraiser (aka Basket Night) together are budgeted at $50,000. When you see those sign-ups come home, that's the whole year's budget riding on them.
Our single biggest commitment is $30,968 for Staff Salary supplement - to cover a gap that APS does not fund. The remaining $36,950 in grants goes where the board and members direct it: classroom supply stipends for every teacher, field trip buses, special education and gifted programs, health room needs, student assistance, and various community events that bring us all together throughout the year.

Most of this budget was decided by looking backward at what we've always funded. This line looks forward, and it's open to you.
The Special Grants Pool is $16,000 set aside for ideas that don't exist yet. New this year, anyone who is a member of the HHH PTSA can bring the board a proposal. You don't need a title, a committee, or a seat at the board table. If you've ever thought "the school should really have..." - this is the money for that sentence.
How it works, in plain terms:
Ask via a Google Form that will be posted and will include items such as what you're proposing, roughly what it costs, when it's needed, and which students or staff benefit.
The board votes at a regular meeting, and the decision goes in the minutes. Larger asks are put on the agenda in advance so nothing big gets decided as a surprise.
The pool opens in stages across the year, tied to how the fall fundraiser performs - we only deploy money we've actually raised.
Ground rules: proposals must benefit Humphrey students or staff broadly (help for an individual student routes through our confidential Student Assistance fund), and we pay vendors directly or reimburse with receipts.
