The Hubert Humphrey PTSA is the parent-teacher-staff association for Hubert Humphrey Elementary School. Hubert Humphrey opened its doors in 1977, and our chapter was chartered the following year. Ever since, this school has run on strong parent participation - roughly 500 students and their families make up our community today.
Our mission: to support the education and wellbeing of every child at Hubert Humphrey Elementary by funding classroom resources, building community, and giving families a voice in our school.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 85-0320466) and a local unit of the New Mexico Congress of Parents and Teachers (New Mexico PTA), part of National PTA.

Our largest commitment is teacher salary supplements - parent-funded positions APS doesn't cover, supporting technology education and pull-out enrichment like library, art, PE, music, and STEAM. We also fund teacher classroom-supply stipends, student events, field trip support, and staff appreciation. Our annual budget is adopted by the membership each fall and filed with New Mexico PTA; you can read it on our Forms & Governance page.
We operate under bylaws approved by New Mexico PTA, hold general membership meetings four times a year, and publish our meeting minutes. Our finances are reviewed annually by an independent internal review committee. See Forms & Governance and Meetings & Minutes.
